A trophy ridge is one of the best places to get a free trophy for the trails you’ve visited.
They’re the most scenic overlooks in the world and the most expensive.
Here are the steps to making one.
Go to the National Park Service’s Trophy Ridge Road.
Use the road’s map to find the location of the trailhead.
Use a GPS to find a location where you can walk.
Use one of those free GPS units to find where you want to go on the trophy ridge.
Take a trail map, or map, of the ridge.
Take the trail map to the nearest parking lot and drive off.
Find a spot in the parking lot, and hike the ridge, hiking side by side.
Enjoy the view from a lookout that looks like a giant hill.
When you’re ready, grab your GPS and go. 10.
Go back to the trail and hike it side by to side.
Take your trail map and go back to find your trailhead, but do not stop.
You can hike the hill again at any time to get back to where you started.
Head back to your car and drive to the trophy parking lot.
Bring the GPS back to a parking lot near where you parked your car, and you’ll be back in your car.
Wait at the parking area for the trophy to appear.
When the trophy is displayed, head to the lookout for a little while to enjoy the view.
After you’ve enjoyed the view for a while, you can hike back to that spot on the ridge and hike side by using the trophy, making a trail, and getting back to whatever you were hiking.
